Living in the Light -- Part 23
John 19-20
 
Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.  John 19:28-30 NIV
 
 
1.  He came to be where we are
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Ps. 46:1 NIV
 
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever.  
John 14:16 NASB
 
I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.  Mt. 28:20 NIV
 
 2.  He came to care for the needy
He has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. Luke 1:48 NIV
 
Cast all your cares on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Pet. 5:7 NKJ
  
3.  He came to give our lives meaning
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.  1 Cor. 15:58 NIV
4.  He came to save us from our lostness
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Mt. 1:21 NIV
 
The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.  Luke 19:10 NIV
  
5.  He came to give us hope
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.  John 20:30-31 NIV
 
Be joyful in hope.  Rom. 12:12 NIV
