Learn to Sacrifice

Revitalizing Your Life—Part 9

Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many. Heb. 9:28 NIV

I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Rom. 12:1 NIV

Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.      Heb. 13:16 NIV

  • Trust God’s opinion over man’s

Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.   Mk.12:14 NIV

  • Understand your place

Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit. But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born as a man and became like a servant. Phil. 2:6-7 NCV

  • Value knowing God above all

This is the real and eternal life: That they know you, the one and only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you sent. John 17:3 Msg

  • Be willing to risk

Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. Mk. 8:35 NIV

  • Check your motives

The time is coming when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth…the Father is actively seeking such people to worship him. John 4:23-24 NCV

  • Yield the timing and results to God

The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.” Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.   John 4:49-50 NLT
