Baptized at age 19, a pioneer member of Eutaw Place Church in Baltimore, MD, Annie taught Sunday School in the Primary Dept. for 30 years before the Lord called her home in 1938. She ministered to mothers, immigrants, the sick, African Americans, Native Americans, and in her last years, to her Jewish neighbors. Once this week was called a Week of Self Denial, a time to pray and give to home missions. In 1934, the offering was named the Annie Armstrong Offering. Nannie Burroughs, one of her contemporaries, wrote, "To me, Miss Armstrong was a symbol -- a marvel at what a woman could do. She fired my soul!" All right, friends, let's get fired up!
