"Set the Lord always before you." Psalm 16:8
Seeking to continually abide in Him and live transformed lives:
A new focus on Women's Ministry began in 2014 and continues to grow and provide opportunities for the women of our church and community to serve Him. Through various activities such as Summer Nights, Overflow, One Heart, Cover with His Love, and First Fridays - Gathering to Serve, the ministry brings women of all ages together for fellowship, service and spiritual growth.
First Fridays - Gathering to Serve: a monthly meeting on the first Friday of each month to assist in ongoing service projects within the church or a specific mission project such as Cover with His Love.
Overflow 2015 (Fall of 2015) - Weekend Women's Conference
How can you get involved? Women of all ages are invited to join us at any of our scheduled activities. If you would like to speak with someone about the ministry, check with our church office and they will direct you to one of the Women's Ministry Team members, or write to us here.
Our WMU at FBCC meet the third Wednesday of each month in the parlor at 10 a.m. We use the Missions Mosaic magazine in our program for our prayer time for International Missionaries birthdays. Our program chairman uses this magazine to share with us a story of a missionary.
Throughout the year we share a program and a missionary speaker about Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, NAMB(week of prayer), a food drive with Shelby Baptist Missions, and Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, while collecting a church wide offering that we send to the mission board. We also help support other local mission events throughout the year.
First Baptist Church Columbiana is pleased to be the Host Church for a Women's Community Bible Study Class that meets each Monday morning from 10:00 - 12:00. The Class of over 300 women and children is currently represented by 19 different communities, 20 different denominations and 72 different churches in the South Shelby area and beyond . . . as far reaching as Pell City . . . to Pelham.
Community Bible Study is an organized inter-denominational Bible Study that has been in existence since 1975. CBS has studies throughout the surrounding Birmingham area, throughout the United States and throughout the World. Community Bible Study even has InPrison studies. Their mission statement is . . . "To make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible study, available to all.CBS leaders are volunteers, called by God, who love the Lord and His Word and represent the local area of study and a broad cross section of the Christian community.
Classes start in August and run through the first week of May. The Class schedule follows the Shelby County School calendar so when the kids are out of school, so is CBS -- which makes it convenient for mothers and grandmothers. Community Bible Study offers a safe, loving environment for babies in our Nursery Program and a thriving Pre-School Program with Bible songs, stories and age appropriate materials for children starting at age two. Dynamic Elementary, Middle and High School classes are offered for Home-School families. All teachers are trained, qualified, called leaders.
Join us each Monday to enjoy fellowship, refreshments and small groups as we study God's Word together. It is a friendly, relaxed Christ-centered, grace filled atmosphere where hearts are shared and lives are supported by love and prayer.
